A name isn’t everything, but it is something

Our mission, vision, and core values remain unchanged. We are committed to helping individuals and communities flourish by removing obstacles to dignity through holistic community development. The name “Reclaim” and our tagline “Dignity + Hope + Life” give us the opportunity to tell our story, honor those we work alongside, ignite curiosity, and demonstrate how faith can inspire transformation.

What’s in a name?

Answering your questions about RECLAIM

FAQ

  • In 2023, IDEAS leadership recognized that our name does not fully reflect our commitment to holistic community development.

At the heart of transformational development is a call to reclaim God’s design for dignity, hope, and life (see more below).

After a season of deep listening and prayerful discernment, we were inspired to change our name to Reclaim, to help us tell the powerful story we’re living and pursuing.

  • The short answer? Nothing!

Our mission to help communities and individuals flourish by removing barriers to dignity remains unchanged.

Our vision for people and communities experiencing abundant life, along with our faith, core values, and the way we work, continue to guide everything we do.

  • Barriers to dignity take many forms, including poverty, exploitation, marginalization, corruption, and hopelessness. These barriers can be physical, relational, social, systemic, and spiritual. Reclaiming dignity requires a holistic approach that addresses both practical needs and the deeper realities of identity, purpose, faith, and hope.

Reclaim works to remove barriers through local, community-owned solutions in health, education, agriculture, disability, and anti-human trafficking—to help individuals and communities flourish.

  • Our name change will not affect past or future donations. Our Employment Identification Number (EIN) is the same. The primary change is that your receipts will now be issued by Reclaim, and we ask that you make payments out to Reclaim instead of IDEAS.

  • Our new email addresses will be “first.lastname“@reclaimwithus.org, but our IDEAS associate and staff email addresses will continue to work for the foreseeable future. Similarly, all links to ideasworld.org websites will be automatically redirected to reclaimwithus.org.

  • Yes, we promise! Faith is still our foundation. Our staff and volunteers share our faith commitments. Our board of directors remains the same. Our goals and priorities haven’t changed. If you have any questions, please reach out and email us at questions@reclaimwithus.org.

  • We’d love to answer any questions you have. Please send us an email at questions@reclaimwithus.org and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Faith Our Foundation

Let’s start at the beginning….

God’s original intent for humanity

Humans were created for life-giving relationships with one another, the world, and God, defined by love, mercy, justice, self-sacrifice, and compassion.

Broken systems + Broken relationships

We turned away from this design to pursue personal gain, power, control, and the elevation of self above others, resulting in broken systems and broken relationships.

Living in a broken world

Promise of a hopeful future.

Our faith gives us hope that someday God will reestablish a world where people will once again live together in peace.

Waiting for restoration

OUR QUESTION?

What work should we pursue during the sacred time between God’s original intention in creation and the promise of future restoration?

Our Answer

We are working alongside local communities to help individuals and communities flourish by reclaiming their God-given dignity, restoring their hope, and renewing their lives!

Our promise

Dignity + Hope + Life

Reclaim is committed to promoting dignity, hope, and life, and encouraging people to embrace the values of God’s kingdom as we work together toward lasting, transformative change.

Reclaim’s work in Guatemala provides whole-person care for people with disabilities. Our team works to help people experience the fullness of their God-given dignity.

DIGNITY

Designed in the Image of God

HOPE

Restoring light where the future is dim

Our organization-wide focus on anti-human trafficking roots out and transforms the vulnerabilities that lead to trafficking, restoring hope and breaking chains of generational bondage.

Cultivating life + flourishing

LIFE
